The cars will be based on Mitsubishi's electric vehicle, the i MiEV. Powering each car is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which Mitsubishi claims has a range of 160km. Drivers can recharge the battery by simply plugging the car into an electrical outlet.

PSA Peugeot Citroen would like to finalize this deal with Mitsubishi, as the French government currently offers subsidies of up to 5,000 Euros per electric vehicle. Motorists who own electric vehicles will also be given certain tax breaks.
