SG: Bus frequencies improved

The LTA has identified 30 illegal parking hot spots, and already has installed and switched on 10 CCTV cameras in 10 of the areas. LTA expected the amount of offenders to dramatically drop as a result of the deterrence, but unfortunately, they didn’t have the desired effect. Drivers were still found in breech of the law even though the cameras were in operation. One reason for parking illegally is that carparks were full, and the nearest empty ones are quite a distance away. Another would be the small signs installed to warn the drivers. Singtel has been the title sponsor of the Singapore Grand Prix since the inaugural race in 2008. Now though, there is a new sponsor- Singapore Airlines. The announcement was made earlier today, and the deal is set for two years, with an option to renew after. The cost of the sponsorship has not been revealed.   Singapore has been crowned as the Monaco of the east, with both the racing and the atmosphere to match the little French island. Previously, it was known as the Formula One SingTel Singapore Grand Prix. With the new sponsorship however, it is now the Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix, which is quite a mouthful.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.

Good Friday is just round the corner! The long weekend will mean an increase in the amount of traffic coming in and going out of Singapore. Thus, heavy traffic is expected at both the Tuas and the Woodlands checkpoints over the long weekend. Commuters are discouraged from walking across the link bridge and into the checkpoints, but rather should opt to use public transport.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
